Slots themed on the board game Monopoly are hugely popular. There are many versions both in live casinos and online. This one is a 3 reel slot, and will give you a trip down memory lane to the original slot format. Unlike the very earliest 3 reel slots, there are 27 possible win-lines (covering all of the combinations from left to right).

The background to the reels is a city view, looking up at skyscrapers with your host (uncle Pennybags) standing at the bottom left of the screen. The Monopoly Multiplier logo sits above the reels, with another uncle Pennybags, this time standing in a pile of dollar bills.

Symbols on the reels are retro in design, and remind me of the original board game. There is the familiar free parking, pass go sign, house, hotel and property symbols. I like the way that these video slot reels have been made to look and sound like the mechanical reels on the original 3-reel slots. In common with other IGT slots which came from Barcrest, the music (jazzy tune) only plays when the reels are spinning – going silent between spins.

There is no big free spins round or elaborate break out bonus game involving a Monopoly board for this game. For those I recommend you check out IGT’s other Monopoly themed titles. There is one interesting bonus feature, which is a nice addition to this otherwise very simple slot.

When you hit a win across the middle of the reels (2nd row, in a straight line from left to right), then you get a chance to win up to 20x with the ‘win multiplier’ bonus. What happens is that a pop up shows you 8 of the classic Monopoly pieces (car, boot, dog, iron and so on). You click on one of these symbols, which then shows you a multiplier for that particular win.

The top possible prize is to hit the 20x multiplier with the top win of 3 wild symbols. This would be 50×20, or 1000 times your bet amount from a single spin. This might not be quite jackpot material, though it would be a welcome windfall for any player!
